LOK ADALATS

As a remedial measure to tide over the backlog of industrial disputes, Lok-Adalats have been introduced into the overall adjudication system. The objective is to settle industrial disputes through this parallel forum.  Cases, which are relatively uncomplicated, are taken up for adjudication through this system.  However, its success depends on the readiness of the litigating  parties for getting their cases settled through this method. The Presiding Officers of the CGIT-cum-Labour Courts play the role of facilitators.  In the XI Plan, this mechanism of Lok Adalats has been made an indispensable part of the adjudication system.
